Late Abshir Bacadle was one of the leading Somali poets in the 21st century. He will be greatly remembered in his entire collection of poems during this difficult period of time ( the Somali civil war). Abshir Ba’adle was one of the great and prolific Somali poets of his time. His poems were mostly on the Islamic faith, the civil war in Somalia, reconciliation, natural disasters such as famine, and the rights of women and the poor. He left behind a wealth of material that will benefit generations to come. Many poems were conducted for the benefit of Zamzam, a young female imprisoned in Hargeisa, and a chain of poems were written about her case when Abshir Bacadle shed light on her case. She was finally released.
